Privacy Policy

This policy explains how WatchHRV: Watch HRV Trends (the iPhone app and watchhrv.com) handles information. The app is operated by Timothy Hess ("we").
Summary
Health readings are read from Apple Health and processed on your iPhone. Averages, streaks and your HRV target are planned to stay on the device and are not uploaded to us, to our account service or to our iCloud storage. Apple Health remains the source of your readings.
Information we collect
- If you choose to create the optional account: your email address and supported app preferences, such as display settings
- If you purchase the optional supporter subscription: purchase and subscription status
- Crash and error diagnostics limited to technical details, with no Health data
Information we do not collect
- HRV readings or any other Health data
- Derived HRV averages, streaks or your personal HRV target
- Source device identifiers from Health
- Location, contacts or advertising identifiers
Health information
WatchHRV helps you explore patterns in your own data. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it is not a medical device. HRV naturally varies, and a higher number does not always mean better health. Talk to a qualified health professional about any health concerns.
Optional account
An optional free account can save supported app preferences. Your HRV readings stay in Apple Health; whether they are available on a new phone depends on your Health data transfer and permissions, not on a WatchHRV account. We will update this policy before launch to match the released app.
iOS permissions
- — To read heart rate variability (SDNN) readings for your trends and optional streak. WatchHRV does not request write access.
- — Only if you turn on a comparison: the selected sleep, resting heart rate or activity data for that chart.
- — Requested only after you choose a reminder. Declining never blocks your charts.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers only to run the app. They may not use your information for their own purposes.
- RevenueCat — Processing the optional supporter subscription and restoring purchases. It does not receive your app content.
- Sentry — Crash and error diagnostics that exclude your personal content. We will confirm the exact fields in this policy before launch.
Advertising
Any ads in the free version promote other apps by the same developer. We do not sell personal information, do not share it for cross-app advertising, and do not use Apple's advertising identifier to track you.
Purchases
Optional supporter subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive purchase status (for example, whether a subscription is active) but never your payment card details.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Your choices and rights
You can use the app without an account, turn off notifications and permissions in iPhone Settings, and delete local data by deleting the app. To access or delete information connected to you, email [email protected]. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights, and we will honor them.
Retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above and protect it with reasonable safeguards. Crash reports are kept for a limited period.
